Hallelujah Diet: A Bible Based Weight Loss Program
The Hallelujah Diet is not marketed as a weight loss and fat burning food plan. But the components that make up this diet will naturally result to weight loss that it is now adapted by millions – even those who does not share the same faith. This type of diet and lifestyle was developed by Pastor George Malkmus and his wife during the 70s. Today, they are still marketing this diet plan through seminars and there are hundreds of centers that can aid anyone who wanted to adapt the lifestyle.
A Unique Form of Vegan Diet
Hallelujah Diet reviews regard this meal plan and lifestyle as a form of vegan diet. The traditional notion of vegan diet is that their food is only based on vegetables and fruits. Hallelujah diet, on the other hand, also emphasize on how the food is prepared. The food plan consists of 85% raw and the rest is cooked and consumed mostly at dinner. The developer of this type of diet believes that raw preparation is the best way of consumption because the fruit and vegetables are never compromised with heat.
Emphasis on Juicing and Simplified Food Preparation
Aside from raw consumption of food, this type of diet plan also puts emphasis on juices. Some vegetables and fruits are better consumed when they are prepared in juice form. Here’s one of the Hallelujah diet recipes which is recommended for breakfast:
- Water
- Avocado
- Frozen Raspberry
- Banana
- Green Leafy Vegetables
Combine these ingredients in a blender and serve as juice.
There are also hallelujah diet recipes that require even lesser preparation. A good example is this vegetable salad:
- Baby spinach
- Strawberries
- Purple Onions
- Sesame seeds
- Raw sweetener (such as honey)
- Lemon Juice
- Almond or rice milk
- Vegenaise
Simply combine these ingredients for a vegetable salad.
Very Low Calorie Diet
Most, if not all Hallelujah diet reviews praise this type of diet plan because it pushes for something very healthy. However, the strict diet plan can be dangerous because of the very low calorie diet. Raw vegetables and fruit are good but they lack the calories that would provide the required energy. Serious deficiency in calories can easily weaken anyone. The diet program tries to compensate the lacking vitamins and minerals (not only calories) through their “BarleyMax” supplement but it’s just a concentrate of what is already taken through fruits and vegetables.
Additional Exercise Required
Aside from proper food program, Hallelujah diet also requires a 30-minute daily exercise. With this length of exercise, those who follow the program will surely experience weight loss. In fact, there is no way this food plan and lifestyle will result to weight gain because of an extremely low calorie diet. Unfortunately, this type of diet is very dangerous to everyone.
Bottom line: Hallelujah diet sounds like a great weight loss plan. But it comes with very dangerous side effects because it lacks the essential vitamins and minerals to support the body and its low-calorie diet can easily cause weakness.
