G Free Diet Review

G Free Diet Review: A Smart Book to Achieve Gluten Free Lifestyle

I became interested in Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s book after I read a positive G Free Diet review. I was thinking that it could be one of the fad diet books written by a celebrity with a lot of help from their publisher. But it turns out to be a very personal book as indicated by many G Free Diet reviews online. Because of mainly positive reviews, I decided to get a copy for myself and see if I would agree to various online opinions. For those unfamiliar with Elizabeth Hasselbeck, she is one of the hosts of “The View” and was once part of the reality show “Survivor” as a contestant.

A Gluten Free Diet

The author’s main reason of writing this book is on increased awareness of the celiac disease. This is a form of disease related to digestion which can be easily triggered by any food that contains gluten. Because of this medical condition, Elizabeth Hasselbeck has to live without eating any gluten – a tall order considering many ingredients added to daily meals today contain gluten.

Practical Tips from G Free Diet Book

What’s really impressive about the G Free Diet Book is its practicality. The author understands that not everyone will be willing to live gluten free. Family and friends might not be interested in this type of diet. To answer this challenge, she has dedicated a part of the book on how to set-up a kitchen to avoid conflict between those who are under gluten free diet and to those who opted to have regular food. Another helpful part of the book is on tips when eating out. The author provides some list of restaurants where you can enjoy certain meals gluten free. Aside from the list, the author also provides tips on reading the menu and on what questions to ask to determine if the chosen food is gluten free. She also listed tips on how to shop, what to do during a party with food and even on explaining your diet to your friends.

As someone who actively practices the diet, she has listed a lot of scenarios where you might encounter gluten filled food and what to do about it. This practical look on how to be gluten free is definitely a big help to those suffering from celiac disease.

The Advantages of Being Gluten Free

A gluten free diet is a healthy diet that can be adapted even by those who do not have celiac disease. The G Free Diet recipes, although very limited in the book, gives a good clue on how the diet can help the body. The G Free Diet recipes can help boost energy, increase concentration level and improve digestion.

This book will be disappointing for those looking for a weight loss solution through a gluten free diet. Remember that a gluten free diet is not a calorie free diet. There are gluten free ingredients in the market that are high in calorie. This book is specifically written for those who are solely interested in completely eradicating gluten (not calories) from their food and reaping the benefits because of this decision.
