Big Breakfast Diet Reviews

Introduction

The Big Breakfast Diet is an idea that was proposed by nutritionist Dr. Daniela Jakubowicz a few years ago and is essentially a take-off of the general idea that eating breakfast regularly and early each morning can help jump start your metabolism on the activities of the day.  Dr. Jakubowicz takes this idea a lot further however, asking you to eat as much as half of your caloric intake in your first meal of the day.

How it works

The basic premise uncovered by our Big Breakfast Diet reviews is that you devote half or even more than half of your daily caloric intake to the breakfast meal.  The second part of that equation is that you make sure that you get up and eat your breakfast before nine o’clock in the morning.  The idea behind this particular diet is that by doing both of these things, you will allow the majority of your caloric intake to quickly burn away because breakfast will supercharge your body which in turn will burn off more calories.  Since you’ve eaten a lot at breakfast, you will also be less inclined to eat a lot later and that in turn will be better for your health as well.  This at least in theory represents the two reasons why the Big Breakfast Diet should work.

The good

The best thing that our Big Breakfast Diet reviews can say about this plan is that it places such an emphasis on the breakfast meal.  There has been research done over the years showing that people that are able to regularize their breakfast meal are people that tend to be healthier and weigh less.  Of course, this is more of a generalization than anything else because there are many reasons why that correlation exists.  None of them have to do with the size of the breakfast meal, but the fact that this plan forces you to regularly eat breakfast everyday already makes it better than most of the fad diets out there that don’t really work.

The bad

Although the Big Breakfast Diet does get you thinking about breakfast regularly, there is no evidence to really back up the extra steps that they take.  For example, there is no study out there for a high-level reputable medical journal that correlates eating before nine in the morning to better health outcomes.  The same goes for making sure that half of your caloric intake happens during that meal.  These things are not necessarily bad for you though, so they only get filed under the bad section because they are claims that seem somewhat unsupported at the moment.  In actuality, they are more neutral than anything else and still positively offset by the focus on the breakfast meal.

Conclusion

Unlike many of the other diets that you’ll see out there, Big Breakfast Diet reviews cannot conclude that this diet is dangerous to your health.  At the very least it is positive because it regularizes breakfast for you.  If all you get from this diet is that, you will have already done something positive for your health.
